Key Skills and Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Development Expertise:
- Develop applications using GCP services like App Engine, Cloud Functions, and Kubernetes Engine.
- Work with Compute Engine for virtual machine instances.
- Build and manage scalable, serverless architectures.
2. API and Microservices Development:
- Design and implement APIs using tools like Apigee API Management.
- Develop microservices using GCP's Cloud Run and integrate them with other GCP services.
3. Data Handling:
- Use Cloud Storage for managing data.
- Build data pipelines with Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Dataproc.
- Utilize BigQuery for analytics and Firestore or Cloud Spanner for databases.
4. DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines:
- Implement CI/CD workflows using Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, and Container Registry.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform or Deployment Manager.
5. Security and Compliance:
- Configure IAM roles and permissions.
- Use Cloud Identity and Cloud Security Command Center for security best practices.
6. Machine Learning and AI (Optional):
- Leverage Vertex AI, AI Platform, and pre-trained models like AutoML.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into applications using GCP AI APIs (e.g., Vision, Speech-to-Text).
7. Networking:
- Configure and manage virtual private cloud (VPC) networks.
- Use Cloud Load Balancing and Cloud CDN for efficient resource distribution.
8. Troubleshooting and Monitoring:
- Monitor applications with Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
- Debug and optimize applications using tools like Cloud Trace and Error Reporting.

- Languages: Python, Java, Go, Node.js, C#.
- Tools: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins.
- GCP Services: App Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, and more.
Certifications (Optional but Recommended):
- Google Professional Cloud Developer
- Google Professional Cloud Architect
- Google Associate Cloud Engineer
In the US, the target base salary for this role is $170-200k. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. We expect the majority of candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
